Career Manager is now responsive on mobile devices, such as smart phones and tablets. You can complete framework assessments, professional registration applications (including Fellowship applications) and plan, record and submit your CPD on mobile devices. This means that all the features of Career Manager are now available to you whether you are at your desk, or on the move, and you can record your CPD on the go.
You can pin Career Manager to your mobile phone or tablet’s home screen so you can use it like one of your apps. Just follow these simple steps:
The Home dashboard has been improved to provide more information on the progress of your registration, or Fellowship application. Quick links have been included to enable you to take action more easily.
The Home dashboard has been improved to provide more information on the CPD activity hours recorded. You can change your target hours for the year and a quick link is available to add CPD activities more easily.
You will also be reminded to submit your CPD declaration which not only demonstrates to the IET the CPD you have done, but also allows you to compare your CPD progress from one year to the next and how you compare with your peers.
CPD Quick Codes have been introduced to aid members to quickly add the details of their CPD activities, for example after attending IET courses and events. When using a Quick Code to add your CPD, the description for the activity will be filled in for you. Some Quick Codes will also include the date of the event and the default number of CPD hours. All you have to do is check the information provided for you, decide whether to pin the activity to one of your development goals and add your reflection.
Quick Codes will be rolled out during 2023 and so whilst you may not be provided with a Quick Code at the next IET course that you attend, look out for them as we increase the number of places where they are provided throughout the year. If you don’t have a Quick Code for the CPD activity that you’re adding, then this field can be left blank.
QR codes can also be used to scan the Quick Code into Career Manager when using a mobile device. Just use the camera on your device and you’ll be navigated straight to the Career Manager Add CPD activity form where the Quick Code information will have been entered for you.
The ICT Tech assessment framework has been updated to the most recent version, incorporating the latest changes made by Engineering Council. This includes the removal of the B3, B4 and E5 competences and updates to the descriptions.
The workflows for Framework Assessment – Get Feedback and Add Academic and Vocational Qualifications have been revised to enhance the usability of these features.
